Pelosi in 2008 Blamed White House for Oil Prices - Silent Today

oil pump

I've decided to belabor the point further and show just how hypocritical our leftists friends are. A little search engine trip to locate "pelosi", "2008" and "oil" was sure illuminating. Crooks and Liars, circa July 18, 2008, popped up in the results. Seems they were a little worked up over the price of oil and gasoline and allowed their princess, Nancy Pelosi, to put a stamp on their outrage.
Who knew Nancy Pelosi was such a straight-shooter? When Wolf Blitzer tries to pin part of the blame for the current energy crisis on the Democratic Congress, Pelosi shoots back by saying her House did everything it could to institute a sensible energy policy, only to have "run into a brick wall" in the form of Senate Republicans -- you know, the ones who broke the filibuster record for a full term last year.

"The price of oil is... is attributed to two oil men in the White House and their protectors in the United States Senate."

While it might be easy (and typically accurate) to blame everything on President Bush and Vice President Cheney, I don't think it's unreasonable to lay the current crisis at the White House's doorstep. Sure, there are some uncontrollable market forces at work, but both Cheney and Bush are oil patch guys; it would be the height of naivete to assume that they would have an energy policy that didn't benefit Big Oil.

From Day One, Dick Cheney was plotting how to take over Iraq oil fields. Before the war, it was obvious to everyone that the invasion or Iraq, and the instability it would caused in the region, would only drive prices up further. For all the lip service President Bush pays to his commitment to renewable energy, the fact is spending has been on the stagnant since the mid-1990's.

What we really need is a leader with the wisdom to acknowledge the magnitude of the problem and the courage to tackle it head on. "Green Screen" John McCain is clearly not that leader.

Hmmm. The leftists got their leader. Supposedly the most brilliant man in all of political history. He not only has not acknowledged the problem we face, his answer to tackle the problem "head on" was to shut down production in the Gulf of Mexico and further hinder this country's ability to use our own resources. He prefers we transfer wealth to the Middle East and kill jobs.

I just can't seem to locate any disdain for the high price of petroleum now that Obama is leader on that blog. The silence from the left and the big media is deafening. Crooks and Liars was sure the blame was all on the Bush White House. The stupidity of that assertion is clear.

This blog does not blame Obama for the high prices. I blame an unstable Middle East. I blame leftist environmentalists like Pelosi and activists like Secretary Ken Salazar for using unlawful regulation to advance their agenda. They work very hard to hinder this country's ability to explore and develop our own resources. And we suffer for it. Obama? He probably doesn't care either way. He just knows his leftist base is supported by the dirt people so he goes along with whatever they want.
